"Spain Santa"

Spanish children believe that the Three Kings bring presents to them at Epiphany. Santa is ringing a large bell to call the families to La Misa Del Gallo or "The Mass of the Rooster." He carries a candle in his other hand, signifying the unusual tradition of Hogueras, observance of the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year and the beginning of winter. The tradition is observed by people jumping over fires to win symbolic protection against illness. This fire-jumping is practiced primarily in Granada and Jaen.
Each figure is created from a mixture of resin and marble powder which is blended to create a material which is poured into the master mold. It is sculpted with intricate detail by hand & then inspected for any flaws.
